Chad - BBQ Lover, World Traveler
Chad’s love-affair with food began at only 5 years old, when he first asked his father for his very own Easy Bake Oven. Quickly learning to harness the cooking power of the “EBO” lightbulb, Chad’s hunt for the very best in gastronomic delights began early and continued on. Much like a fine wine or single-barrel whiskey, time only increased his passion.
Chad has spent years traveling the world and experiencing the most exotic of fares. After repeated trips to Texas and North Carolina, Chad became addicted to BBQ. Back home in Philadelphia, armed with his backyard pit and head full of recipes, Chad pulled all nighters perfecting rubs, sauces, and sides. The only thing missing in his quest for the perfect southern BBQ was the authentic Memphis experience. So he hopped a plane, flew down south, and discovered a twin soul - BBQ master Jarvis.
Jarvis - Weaned on BBQ, from the Pits of Memphis
Jarvis knows Memphis barbecue. Born and raised in Memphis, Jarvis started his culinary career early, learning from his mother at the tender age of 7. Prompted by his father’s promise of a car, 16 year old Jarvis was hired as a cashier at the then-newly incorporated, and now world-renowned, Neely’s BBQ.
Neely’s BBQ has since become an institution in Tennessee. Consistently winning Best of... titles for both their ribs and their BBQ, Neely’s restaurants have been featured on Pat and Gina Neely’s show on the Food Network, as well as in their New York Times best-selling cookbook. Jarvis spent 15 years at the Neely’s downtown location, four as the General Manager, where he cultivated and fine-tuned his knowledge of true Memphis BBQ. Lucky for the Northeast, Jarvis and his culinary prowess have since relocated to the Philadelphia area to manage the Rosey’s team.
